June 26, 2008: "Robbie Williams Splits With Latest Girlfriend"

Robbie Williams has split from his latest girlfriend.

Robbie Williams and aspiring actress Ayda Field ended their year-long romance after the 28-year-old beauty grew tired of Robbie's reluctance to embrace the Los Angeles party scene.

A source close to Robbie - who moved to the U.S. in 2002 - said: "Ayda was attracted to Robbie as he is vastly different to the average Los Angeles guy she is accustomed to, but in the end this was exactly what ended their relationship, he is just too different."

"Robbie's indifference about the Los Angeles scene annoyed her. He was content to stay in eat junk food and watch DVDs while Ayda was yearning for some glamorous nights out."

"Ayda is hungry to advance in her career and that means schmoozing the right people. But Robbie doesn't care about that."

Friends insist the separation was amicable and Robbie - who took Ayda on several romantic holidays - is determined to have some fun.

One pal is quoted by Britain's Daily Mail online: "He is in Los Angeles for the summer and hopes to have some fun with Los Angeles girls and maybe even develop a serious relationship."

Robbie, 34, has previously dated former All Saints star Nicole Appleton, Geri Halliwell and model Rachel Hunter.

June 20, 2008: "Rob Williams Invites Lily Allen on UFO Hunt"

Robbie Williams has reportedly told friends he "sees a lot of himself" in Lily and wants to spend an evening with her when she is in Los Angeles, where he lives.

Robbie Williams hopes to take the 23-year-old singer to his favorite restaurant STK before heading for a night of star gazing for spaceships.

A friend of Robbie Williams , 34, told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Robbie loves Los Angeles but the one thing he does miss is the British sense of humours and impudence, so Lily's attitude appeals to him. He thought it would be nice to meet up while she's recording her album in town and got his people to call Lily's people to invite her for dinner at his favourite restaurant."

"Rob likes to be a big brother figure to celebrities who seem to find themselves in the same position he has been - young and vulnerable and in the glare of the media. And he feels that taking an interest in UFOs and the unknown is a good way of putting things in perspective, hence asking Lily to join him."

Earlier this week, it was revealed Robbie has taken up camping in the hope of seeing an alien.

A source close to the star said: "Robbie has been taking pals out to the woods for long weekends. He wants to live like a cowboy in a Western. He also has a fascination with UFOs and thinks he has more chance of seeing one away from Los Angeles' bright lights."

Earlier this year, it was claimed Robbie was planning to splash out $4.9 million on an alien observatory after spending all his free time visiting Arizona's National Optical Astronomy Observatory, in Tucson.

June 17, 2008: "Robbie Williams Searching For Aliens"

Robbie Williams has started camping in a bid to spot a UFO.

Robbie Williams has purchased a tent, sleeping bag, cooking gear and survival equipment so he can sleep under the Californian stars in the hope of seeing an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

A source close to Robbie Williams told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Robbie has been taking pals out to the woods for long weekends. He wants to live like a cowboy in a Western. He also has a fascination with UFOs and thinks he has more chance of seeing one away from Los Angeles' bright lights."

Earlier this year, it was claimed Robbie Williams was planning to splash out $5 million on an alien observatory after spending all his free time visiting Arizona's National Optical Astronomy Observatory, in Tucson.

A source said: "He is leading a bizarre existence at the moment, vanishing into the desert to look at starts in far-flung galaxies. He is dead set on buying himself an observatory in the desert, which can cost up to $5 million. He is hooked on all things from outer space."

Robbie Williams biography (bio):
Robbie Williams is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is also one of the few pop acts to have been nominated for the Mercury Prize.
Williams' career began as a member of the pop band Take That in 1990, which he left in 1995 to begin his solo career, the band having sold more than 25 million records. Since then, Williams has sold more albums in the United Kingdom than any other British solo artist in history, and has sold 53 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide, over the course of his solo career.
Williams made it to The Guinness Book of World Records when 1.6 million tickets were sold in a single day shortly after he announced his World Tour in 2006.
He also has the distinction of having more number one albums than any other male, barring Elvis Presley. He appears in the list of the all-time Top 100 best albums in the United Kingdom six times[citation needed] , more than any other person or group and has been the recipient of many awards including more BRIT and ECHO Awards than any other artist in history the Brit Awards 2005. He is currently the most successful male artist in the world, for the period 1998-2007, according to the United World Chart, and the third artist overall behind Madonna and Britney Spears.
Robert Peter Williams, best known by his stage name Robbie Williams, was born on February 13, 1974 in Burslem, one of towns in which is amalgamated the city of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. His family is Roman Catholic and has Irish ancestry; Peter, his father, was a comedian who adopted the stage name of Pete Conway and Jan, his mother, was a florist. They divorced when he was four years old.
Williams's career started when his mother saw an advertisement on a newspaper: a manager, Nigel Martin Smith, was looking for some young singers because he wanted to form a boy band. Robbie contacted this manager, had an audition and was so allowed to join to the new band because of his good singing ability. Robbie Williams was the last member to enter Take That.

Collaborations:
In 2002, Williams appeared on the track, 'My Culture' (which features lyrics from the hidden track 'Hello Sir' from The Ego Has Landed), on the 1 Giant Leap album, alongside Maxi Jazz. Williams also features on a double CD titled "Concrete" which was released on the same day as "Rudebox". The CD features a concert recorded for the BBC featuring the Pet Shop Boys and Williams singing their classic hit 'Jealousy'. Their joint effort, "She's Madonna", was released as a single in March 2007. On August 13th 2007, a Dean Martin duets album was released, on which Williams sings Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone.

Lifestyle:
Williams now spends most of his time in Los Angeles, California.
Williams appears to struggle with depression, insecurity, and self-loathing. When beginning his solo career, he had received lots of criticism from critics which led him to drink and drugs. He has admitted to trying heroin and labelled it "the devil's drug".[107]
Robbie Williams entered a rehabilitation centre in Tucson, Arizona, US on February 13, 2007 for addiction to the anti-depressant Seroxat.[108] He left the centre on March 7 according to his official website.
In his fly-on-the-wall documentary Nobody Someday (2001) he repeatedly mocked his flamboyant behaviour on stage and felt that the persona and 'brand' of Robbie Williams Popstar was a fake that he increasingly felt uncomfortable with. In more recent documentaries he yearns to become a credible artist in the eyes of the serious music press. In 2006 he appeared in "The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive", a BBC documentary on bipolar disorder, hosted by Stephen Fry, where he spoke publicly about his own experiences with depression. However, he said that the manic behaviour shown on stage was simply an act, saying he'd been diagnosed as being "dead upset" and started taking anti-depressants 10 months after becoming sober.

Wealth:
Williams is currently worth an estimated 100 million (approximately $197 million). In 2006 the Sunday Times Rich List claimed he was worth over 90 million. Since then Williams' company 'In Good Company' has raked in a further 17.2 million for the year ending March 2006. This figure does not include profits from Williams' record breaking Close Encounters Tour where he sold over 3.5 million tickets and grossed over $340m, or his latest album Rudebox which shifted 3 million units in its first three months of release. According to HELLO Magazine's 2006 Rich list, he earned 30m ($59m) in 2006, making him the third highest earning act, behind Elton John and The Rolling Stones. In his five years as a member of Take That, Williams earned an estimated 5m. Before signing his record breaking 80m ($158m) contract with EMI in 2002, Williams was worth an estimated 35m ($69m). Williams is a lifelong supporter of Port Vale F.C., based in his home town of Stoke-on-Trent. In February 2006 he bought 240,000 worth of shares in the club.

Charity:
Robbie Williams created a charity with the aid of Comic Relief that is set up in his home town entitled Give It Sum, with its goal being to "improve local conditions and strengthen community life by giving money to those who are disadvantaged." Williams, with the help of friend Jonathan Wilkes, recently organised a charity football match in an attempt to raise funds in Africa. This match was played in May 2006 at Old Trafford, Manchester. The participants were a mixture of celebrities and professional football players.

Sexuality:
Williams has been the subject of tabloid rumours about having various gay partners, but he has repeatedly denied the rumours. He appears to question his own sexuality in some well-known songs, such as "Old Before I Die", where he sings, "Am I straight or gay?". Later, in "Kids", Williams' collaboration with Kylie Minogue, he sings the "press be asking do I care for sodomy? I don't know, yeah...probably." In his documentary, Nobody Someday, he said he'd never had sex with a man, but admitted he "would try anything once".
Williams won a libel case against MGN and Northern & Shell in December 2005 relating to articles which had reported he was a closet homosexual. In the libel action that resulted from this, Williams accepted substantial damages and the publishers accepted that the stories were untrue. His counsel, Tom Shields QC, told the court: "Mr Williams is not, and has never been, homosexual". Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell called for any damages paid out from the libel case to be donated to gay charities, claiming Williams' legal actions had created the impression that it is "bad to be gay". Williams retorted that he was not bothered about being labelled as a gay man, and he would have taken the same action had it been regarding a heterosexual relationship. The court case has led some to draw comparisons between Williams and Australian actor/pop star Jason Donovan, who also once made a successful libel claim against a publication concerning his sexuality. Donovan won the case, but the act of his litigation alienated many of his gay fans.
Williams has had romantic relationships with several well-known female celebrities, including Rachel Hunter. Feel, written by Williams' friend and Daily Mail writer Chris Heath, details Williams' many sexual conquests during his European tour in 2003.
In 1997, Robbie met Nicole Appleton, a member of the band All Saints. The pair became engaged, and Nicole became pregnant. Although Robbie was delighted at the prospect of becoming a father, Nicole had an abortion, claiming her record company had pressured her into it. The pair subsequently broke up.
