Little Big Town is an American country music vocal group. Formed in 1999, the band has four members: Karen Fairchild (born September 28, 1969), Kimberly Roads (born October 15, 1969), Jimi Westbrook (born October 20, 1971), and Phillip Sweet (born March 18, 1974). Unlike most vocal groups, Little Big Town does not have a designated lead singer; instead, vocal duties are shared among all four members.
Little Big Town was signed originally to Mercury Nashville Records; however, no singles or albums were released on that label. They moved to Sony's Monument Records, on which they released their debut album in 2002. The album, which was self-titled, was panned critically and did not sell commercially, producing only two minor chart singles before Little Big Town was dropped from the label. After losing their record deal, the band members worked in telemarketing for a brief period.
In 2005, Little Big Town was signed to Equity Music Group, a label started by country music singer Clint Black. On October 4 of that year, they released their second album, The Road to Here. The album produced two Top 10 country singles in "Boondocks" and "Bring It On Home", as well as two Top 20s with "Good As Gone" and "A Little More You". In addition, the album produced two Grammy nominations for the group.
On November 28th of 2006, Kimberly Roads, whose first husband died of a heart attack at age 41, remarried on an island in the Caribbean. Roads gave birth to a baby girl, Daisy Pearl Schlapman on July 27, 2007 Band members Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook married on May 31, 2006; however, they did not reveal this until July of 2006, having said they wanted to keep it private.
Phillip Sweet married Rebbeca Arthur, a business owner and wardrobe stylist, on the 30th of March 2007 Sweet and his wife are expecting their first child too, by the end of 2007.
