|Linksys wrt54gx v2 Page: 1 2|
The WRT54GX V.2 on this page (Sometimes referred to as Pre-N) is a wireless router by Linksys that unlike Version one, Uses a RealTek processor (Chip details here)
Unlike Version 1 of this router, No third party firmwares have been released or are compatible with this model, the reason behind that is that despite the generous flash and Ram, Source code or specification for the processor (RTL8651B) is not available.
Version 2 of the router, doubles the Ram and Flash of Version 1, Offering a very generous 32 MB of RAM and 8 MB of flash, Double what is recommended for third party firmwares like OpenWRT, DD-WRT, and others, this can open plenty of space for scripts and other Linux functionality.
The realtek processor may be a very nice processor, But unfortunately, with only the stock firmware compatible with this device, it is not much use.
Here i am posting images of the device taken with my 10Mpix camera, since maybe it can help someone trying to install Linux on this router.
