Anne Hathaway paid her ex-boyfriend's $148,000 rent. The "Devil Wears Prada" actress reportedly gave Raffaello Follieri money to cover the $37,000 monthly payments for his luxurious Olympic Tower apartment, in New York, for four months, according to Vanity Fair magazine. After growing suspicious of the Italian businessman's money-making schemes, Anne is believed to have phoned Raffaello and ended their four-year relationship over the summer. It has been claimed Anne told him during the emotional call: "You were the love of my life. I'll always love you. You know that, baby." Just hours after the pair parted ways, Raffaello was arrested and charged with a dozen counts of federal wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering. He is accused of posing as a member of the Vatican and attempting to con investors interested in buying and developing church properties. Raffaello also allegedly stole $6 million from his investment firm. He will remain in jail unless he can post $21 million bail. It has also been claimed Anne's father Jerry first began to doubt Raffaello in 2005 and had him followed by a private investigator. Earlier this week, it was reported Anne, 25, is now dating "Sweet Home Alabama" actor Josh Lucas, after the pair were seen at several Democratic National Convention events together recently. *** September 3, 2008: "Anne Hathaway Seen Getting Cozy With Josh Lucas At The DNC" Anne Hathaway has been spotted canoodling with actor Josh Lucas. The "Devil Wears Prada" actress, who split from Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri over the summer, was reportedly holding hands with Josh at the Democratic National Convention, in Denver, last week. The happy pair were later seen flirting and laughing at Earls Restaurant in Denver. A source told gossip blogger Perez Hilton: "They definitely looked like a couple. They were really into each other, giggling and smiling and even holding hands at one point. You could almost taste their chemistry! She looked beautiful and happy. Josh put his arm around her for a bit before they left." Anne, 25, and Josh, 37, are also believed to have been "connected at the hip" at another Democratic National Convention event hosted by the National Apartment Association earlier this month. The Hollywood stars reportedly "sneaked away" together for some privacy during a speech by the association's president. The "Get Smart" actress has been changing her clean-cut image with controversial films including "Brokeback Mountain" but admits her sex symbol status has surprised her. I’m not one of those people who says, ‘What’s the point of marriage?" *** August 5, 2008: "Anne Hathaway Distraught Over Nude Photo Scandal" Anne Hathaway is worried raunchy photographs of her will be made the public. The "Devil Wears Prada" actress poses nude in the pictures for ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri but is concerned they may be leaked to the press as they are now in the hands of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The pictures include a "sizzling" photograph of the 25-year-old actress wearing only black fishnet stockings, a garter belt and bustier that completely exposes her breasts. Gossip website gawker.com claims the shots will be made public "in another two weeks or so." Anne is so keen to stop the pictures being published she reportedly asked her older brother Michael to recover them from a hidden storage box in the Bronx, New York where Raffaello had kept some of his and Anne's belongings. However, the FBI had already removed the shots as they searched for evidence against Raffaello. Raffaello is rumoured to have paid a top photographer to take the pictures. *** August 5, 2008: "Anne Hathaway's Nude Photos Leak Expected" How long will it be until Anne Hathaway's naked photos surface on the net? Not too long, according to Gawker. "We'll give it another two weeks or so." Hathaway, 25, has been the subject of non-stop tabloid coverage following her recent breakup with scam artist Raffaelo Follieri of Italy. Follieri, 30, was arrested in June for fraud. But it appears Hathaway’s real problems could be just around the corner. According to the Enquirer, Follieri had reportedly taken several nude photos of Hathaway, Gawker writes. The piece de resistance of which is a prized and "sizzling" photo of her in black fishnet stockings, a garter belt and bustier that completely exposes her top portion. Follieri is believed to have paid a famous photographer to take that picture. Hathaway’s brother tried to recover the pictures from a storage unit, only to find out that the FBI had beaten him to it the day before, according to Gawker. The 'Get Smart' actress had her journals confiscated during a raid on the 29-year-old Italian businessman's apartment. It has also been claimed agents seized photographs of Follieri and Anne, documents, watches, an antique Bible and a Tiffany clock. Anne, who has not been charged with anything, is believed to have cut all ties with Follieri. A source said: "She has changed her numbers so he can't reach her. He has been trying to call her all the time. "He is doing very badly and says people are abusing him. He's a broken man." Anne's representative has not yet commented on reports the 25-year-old actress' diaries have been confiscated. Follieri reportedly still suspects Anne played a part in his arrest. The source added to the New York Daily News newspaper: "He was in Europe working on a deal. He didn't have to come back to New York. He knew he was being investigated. But she kept calling him, saying they needed to resolve their future.
